April / May
Over the past years, we’ve gone to ceremonies honoring those who have thought for our freedoms. I highly recommend taking the time out to honor those who made extraordinary sacrifices for others. In 2004 I went to the USS Hornet in Alameda to watch the dedication of the World War II Monument in Washington DC. When they started singing “God Bless America” tears came to my eyes. It’s a wonderful country and made so only by the sacrifices of others.
Oakland’s Mountain View Cemetery, San Bruno’s Golden Gate Memorial Cemetery, and the San Francisco Presidio have events every Memorial Day. Ceremonies usually start between 10-11 AM.
