We just bought a house in the East Bay with the help of Ira and Carol. Ira literally wrote the book–How to Buy a House in California (which I recommend), and he’s very knowledgeable and competent. He took the time to really listen to what we were looking for and ultimately brokered a deal for us on a house we’re really excited about!

We felt that Ira and Carol were involved enough that we felt well supported and taken care of (including being available for last minute questions at many different hours), but we never felt harassed/ that our time was being wasted/ that they were breathing down our necks (all things I’ve heard about happening with other realtors).  Plus they’re nice people who have lived in Berkeley for decades and really know and love the area!
